Dog Licenses
The State of Wisconsin requires that owners purchase a license each year for any dog(s) over 5 months of age.
Licenses can be purchased from the local Treasurer.
Failure to license a dog could subject you to additional fines or fees. If you own rental properties you must provide this information to all tenants.
Submit a copy of the Trempealeau County Dog License Application and the current rabies vaccination information provided by a licensed veterinarian.
The information is not retained by the township from year to year.

2021 License Fees:
Neutered/Spayed Dog: $3
Unaltered Dog: $8
Kennel License for up to 12 dogs: $35, each additional tag $3
Late fee if license is purchased after March 31: $5

Building/Driveway/Zoning Permits
A zoning permit and a building permit are required for any building over 150 square feet.
The first step in any building project is to complete a Building Permit Application. The application can be obtained from the Trempealeau County Department of Land Management.
Return the completed application to the town chair for review and signature by a town official.
After the application has been approved by the town board the application should be mailed or hand delivered to the Department of Land Management, P.O. Box 67, 36245 Main Street, Whitehall, WI 54773. There is a fee involved so please call the Department of Land Management (715) 538-2311 (ext. 223) before sending in your application.

An application for a Driveway Permit may be obtained from the town clerk. Return the completed application to the town chair for review by the town board. Once signed by the town chairman the permit will be issued upon payment of the $50.00 fee.
